The 2019 edition channels the trajectory of a unique growing season. Two inches of rain rattled nerves in early May—but luckily a cool spring had kept the vineyards from flowering, so the moisture only girded the resiliency of the vines. That, combined with an exceptionally mild summer, would prove important amid late-September heat spikes, from which the grapes emerged with fresh acidity, impeccable balance, and extraordinary intensity. The result is a wine whose density and concentration are galvanized by an energetic vibrancy.
Exclusively aged in French oak barrels, this wine presents a symphonic interplay of red cherry, cassis, caramel, and mocha. Its length and complexity unfurl further with time in the glass.
